Penguin Book jacket competition

I absolutely loved this project. We had to design a book jacket for the book  "One flew over the cuckoo's nest" we had to create a digital and a non-digital design. For my digital design I had my boyfriend throw a pack of cards down the stairs of our 3 story house as I took pictures of them falling, we did this around 50 times. I managed to get the perfect shot to use for my cover. For my non-digital cover I wanted to make it a little different as the people in the book have medical issues. I had some fabric and sewed on a random squiggly pattern to make it look a little hectic, I then found a very suitable font where some of the letters are the wrong way round. I have recently entered it into the penguin book competition.
This is my final non-digital design. As you can see I made a pretend cardboard book to get a better idea of it.

Both of my cover finals.
